Hello! My name is Noelia Toscano-Arteaga. This is my freshman year at UAF and I am double majoring in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I have somewhat of a background in music. I have been playing the violin for about eight years and have dabbled in different instruments since then. Although, more of my background is in dance. Dance has always been a big part of my life. My culture is Latino with roots in Peru. Peru has a rich background in dance and music. I grew up learning and performing different dances. This included folk dance and Afro-Latino dancing styles. Music has always been influential and a huge part of my life.
Appealing Image:
Finding an image that I find appealing proved to be a difficult task. I am very indecisive and I actually found many images that could work. In the end, I had to do a very intensive search of reading in front of fireplace images. As the weather grows colder, my inner coziness grows. I love drinking warm tea in front of the fireplace with a good book. My Relationship with Music:I believe that I have a very close relationship with music. If music were a person, I think we would be best friends. I play, listen and dabble with music. The most that I do is listen to music. I am constantly listening to music during the day. I always have my headphones on to block outside noise. Depending on what I am doing, is what I am listening to. For instance, if I am working on homework then I am listening to instrumental jazz versions of pop songs. I found a great playlist for that on Apple Music. Sometimes I listen to my random Spotify playlists. Usually, I stick with Apple Music because of all the downloaded music I have. I believe I listen to a great variety of music. The one genre I despise is country music. It is not my cup of tea. My main genres are Latin pop, hip-hop, r&b, and rap. My current go-to songs are Hot-Wings, Bust Your Windows, No Role Modelz, Lo Que Siento, and Color Esperanza. I sadly have never attended a concert. I have wanted to go to many but it, unfortunately, has not happened. I do love going to venues where music is being performed. I love dancing and singing along to songs I know. I also think that live music has a different presence than listening to something online. It just seems magical. |

ReplyDeleteI hear you on the inner coziness. My musical taste is all over the place, and it doesn't have to be clean as long as there is some humor in it too. I even host a bi-annual Wildly Inappropriate Ukulele Songs on my Friday night show.
ReplyDeleteHello, Noelia. I enjoyed reading your blog, and also wish you the best in your freshman year and your future endeavors.
